In una zona di Milano con forte movimento artistico, nasce il progetto Watt13. La ristrutturazione presentava varie difficoltà, come l’integrazione dei nuovi locali con la struttura esistente. L’approccio progettuale ha tenuto conto di questo aspetto, con soluzioni dal forte contenuto tecnologico sostenuto da un design minimale e aggressivo e attraverso la ricerca di piccole strategie strutturali e di arredo per “catturare la luce”. La hall, con una superficie di oltre 700 mq, è stata resa luminosa e aperta verso l’esterno attraverso un grande lucernario, una corte interna e numerose vetrate; inoltre è stata declinata in vari ambienti senza intervenire con pareti o elementi rigidi. La luce, sia naturale che artificiale, diventa elemento chiave per dare identità al luogo.
In an area of Milan with strong artistic movement, the Watt13 project was born. The restructure presented various difficulties, like integration of the new rooms within the existing structure. The planning approach bore this aspect in mind, with solutions combining strong technological content supported by a minimalistic and aggressive design, and through exploiting small structural and furnishing tricks in order “to capture the light”. The hall, with a surface area of over 700 m2, has been rendered luminous and opens onto the outside through a great skylight, an atrium and many large windows; moreover it has been divided into several areas without the intervention of walls or rigid elements. The light, both natural and artificial, becomes the key element for giving identity to the place.
